    The Moon’s Cycle: 29.53059 Days

    The Moonphase Complication Explained The moonphase indicator displays the current phase of the Moon as seen from Earth, using a rotating disc with the Moon and stars visible through an aperture on the dial. The disc advances slightly each day to follow the Moon’s 29.5-day cycle. Today, it is primarily a decorative feature, but it pays tribute to watchmaking traditions from a time when lunar phases were used for navigation and as part of early calendar systems.
